Banbury to Adderbury

Not much happening today. Did an engine check while Christine wrote a couple of e.mails and reconciled  the banking. I did a quick visit to Tooley's Historic Boatyard only to find it closed (obviously still working in a bygone age as well).

As the weather looked threatening we decided to go on as far as we could get until it started raining. Having filled up with water we went into the Banbury Lock and the heavens opened. Once out of the lock we managed to get the boat under a road bridge for some shelter.

We have ended up at Addersbury on some very nice moorings right in the country (although the M40 can be heard in the distance). On the other side of the canal from us there is a country enterprise with a farm shop and other attractions so it will be somewhere we can spend some time tomorrow.  Looking at the forecast (
rain on and off tomorrow) we will make Saturday our make and mend day and hopefully carry on with our trip on Sunday. We really can't complain as the weather we have had so far has been wonderful.

Unusual Spire on this Church at Kings Sutton
but we are getting near to Oxford " City of Spires "

This lock was particularly deep 12' 8"
you can just see the canal below

Christine upon high (while I am in the deep as usual)

Ha Ha now I am on high and Christine is below (but it won't last)

Ah The Dreaded Cill that we must all avoid at our peril

Ah! The old Austin A35 Van my very first car
(Actually the name on the side could apply as well much to my shame)
Oh come on Lads I said I liked Jensens I didn't say I had one

This turned up at the Farm enterprise after we moored up

Sorry folks not too interesting today and not sure tomorrow will be any better if at all
