As the forecast was for frequent rain showers we decided to stay put and do a few jobs on the boat and have a cook up. I managed to re - mastic the area behind the sink in the galley which had shown signs of deterioration and ditto in the heads behind the sink. I then prepared and put in the oven a bulk cook of Spaghetti Bolognese. While that was cooking I rubbed down the Hatch Doors which had some gouges out of them due to some poor helming ( I was told it was me) and then varnished them. They will need another coat but that can wait until the next make and mend day. I then cleaned the shower drainage tube as it seemed to be a bit slow in emptying. While I was doing all this Christine was making herself beautiful ( aren't I the lucky one).
The weather seemed to improve so we decided to go for a walk along the towpath to Aynho Wharf , where we plan to stop off tomorrow for diesel as we have been told that it is a good price.
Just as we reached our destination the heavens opened up, luckily we were able to shelter under a bridge.
Got back to the boat about 5.30pm and sat out on the towpath to get the last of the (by then) sunshine.
I got us a sundowner and to our great delight a Pit Special Aerobatic biplane gave us a display right overhead. So all in all another great day.
