Thrupp to Oxford

We left Thrupp after breakfast at about 10am. We were really looking forward to our entrance into Oxford by canal, as I have always found that it gives a  city, town or village a totally different perspective. Unfortunately this was not the case with Oxford. The whole canal area was overgrown and

uncared for and lined with  narrow boats that's lets say suited the surroundings. What a shame as when you get into Oxford itself, it lives up to all your expectations. Come on Oxford if Banbury can do it so can you.

We had a quick walk around to get our bearings for tomorrow when we intend to take an open top bus tour which is something we always do when visiting such interesting places. We had afternoon tea in St Mary's the Virgin ( the University Church) in the Vault Café and then made our way back to the boat.

More tomorrow
