Newbridge to Lechlade

We woke up to a better day weather wise and decided to make tracks for Lechlade. After breakfast we cast off and got underway. The river is really meandering on this stretch and the bends are very tight in places but manageable. The weather forecast was spot on with occasional showers and sunny spells  and luckily enough I had decided to wear my Musto sailing garb so kept nice and dry.
We spent all day underway and reached Lechlade at 4.30pm  after 7 hours of cruising non stop. It was  long but very enjoyable day and we decided that we would venture into Lechlade tomorrow as we were both quite tired.

First Lock was self service so Christine got her first bit of exercise of the day.
Get those paddles turning and get those muscles burning (there's a shanty there somewhere!!!)
One for my other Mrs Bennett
Felt very safe at this lock with a super hero in charge :)
But not sure if Mary Poppins is up to it :(
I know that they are cutting back on Lock Keepers accommodation but REALLY?
Very narrow bridge opening at Radcot
Narrow and meandering river
Lechlade at last

And just when you think you have got yourself settled down, you always get some awkward cow come along!!!
(sorry couldn't resist that)
